About The Mono Cliffs Inn
Welcome!
Nestled in the heart of the charming hamlet of Mono Centre, our historic restaurant invites you to step into a place where rich history meets modern charm. Since 1987, we've evolved from a cozy general store and art gallery into a one-of-a-kind dining destination with a welcoming downstairs cellar pub.
We promise an unforgettable visit that blends tradition with a fresh, vibrant atmosphere. Come for the food, stay for the experience.
Our Location
Just an hour outside Toronto, nestled in the heart of the scenic Dufferin County, our restaurant is easy to find and impossible to forget. We’re right next to our namesake, the stunning Mono Cliffs Provincial Park, where you can explore kilometres of breathtakingly beautiful trails. Whether you’re hiking, snowshoeing, mountain biking, or horseback riding, the park offers endless outdoor adventures all year long.
Just beyond our property lies the Mono Public Park, offering something for everyone—an epic tobogganing hill in the winter, an outdoor rink for skating, and a basketball court when the sun’s out. Plus, we’re just a ball’s throw from our friends at the Mono Tennis Club, so there's always something to do.
Dufferin County is packed with experiences, from world-class golf courses and lively farmers markets to scenic ski hills and so much more. Our community can’t wait to share all the incredible things this region has to offer.
Whether you’re making us your final destination or passing through, we’re just five minutes from Airport Road or Highway 10 on Country Road 8 and only 12 minutes from Hockley Valley or Orangeville. Come visit and let us show you what makes this place so special.
The Inn started out as a small farm in the early 1800's, it's property covered most of the Community Centre directly south of the restaurant. In 1853 the original house was expanded and a general store opened to provide services to the thriving area.
The General Store was active for almost 120 years before closing the doors in the late 1970's, when the property was used only as a residence.
In 1987 "The Mono Centre General Store" changed to "The Mono Cliffs Inn" and since then people have been finding their way to Mono Centre to dine in a relaxed, country atmosphere. Situated in one of the most scenic stretches of the Bruce Trail, next to the Mono Cliffs Provincial Park, the Inn has become a mecca for lovers of food and wine. The inviting cozy pub downstairs, the creaky floors of the Dining Room and "Old Maggie", the Magnolia tree on the deck, are eager to welcome old friends and first-time visitors.

We’re happy to take reservations for our main floor dining room, but downstairs in Peter Cellars Pub keeps things a bit more relaxed—it’s first come, first served down there. No need to call ahead, just pop by when the mood strikes.
